When retracted, only a fine groove remains:
Wooden stock Helix with telescoping comb

For many hunters, the fine wooden stock is still the ultimate in premium hunting rifles. However, an adjustable comb has often been reserved for synthetic stocks. With the Merkel Helix, the straight pull action rifle can now be ordered with a height and side-adjustable comb. To do this, a precisely fitting piece is cut out of the respective stock. This ensures that the wood grain remains uninterrupted. When the stock is inserted, the joint is very fine and the mechanism cannot be seen from the outside.

An innovative system from the Swedish manufacturer Kalix is installed ex works. The stock spine is locked and released by turning it slightly around the longitudinal axis of the rifle. The height can be adjusted almost infinitely and without tools. Lateral adjustment is possible with a tool for fine-tuning. The mechanism locks very tightly for a stable fit. This feature will be offered for all Helix with wooden stocks from wood class 5 and will be available from August 2025.
